I am a born again Christian in love with a non Christian girl. We plan to marry soon. It is my belief that after marriage she will become a believer. What do you say?. (Name with held on request).
Dear brother, lets us see from the Word of God what God has to say regarding this.
2 Corinthians 6: 17 warns us not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said, “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God and they shall be My people. Therefore come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you”.
Then my brother where is the question of marrying an unbeliever? Marrying an unbeliever is in direct disobedience to God’s command. This will jeopardize not only your personal walk with God but also have serious implications in your personal life. God views your marriage seriously. The purpose of God in your marriage is for Him to be glorified and godly offspring. Knowingly please do not commit such a blunder. There is no guarantee that she will become a believer after marriage.
Please consider this in the light of God’s Word.
